Biography
John Bergamo entered the world in 1940 within Englewood, New Jersey. He drew upon unconventional instruments alongside rhythms from African and Asian traditions, creating sonic textures now common among contemporary percussionists. His output spanned both global and innovative genres, while a solo percussion album issued by CMP offered appeal across diverse preferences. Serving on the faculty of the California Institute of the Arts, Bergamo passed away in October 2013 when he reached 73 years of age.
