Biography
Born and raised in Jackson, TN, folk-rock singer/songwriter John Kilzer played basketball at the University of Memphis and later taught English. He signed in 1986 with Memphis music veteran Keith Sykes’ publishing company, which paved the way for a Geffen contract. Sykes produced Kilzer’s 1988 debut album Memory in the Making, and that same year Rosanne Cash recorded his composition “Green, Yellow, and Red” for her acclaimed album King’s Record Shop. His sophomore release, Busman’s Holiday, arrived in 1991.
