Jordan Adetunji

Emerging via the melodic alt-rap cut "Kehlani," Belfast rapper and singer Jordan Adetunji ranks among the city's brightest young prospects, weaving threads from disparate genres into his signature alternative rap sound. Both the original and its 2024 remix featuring Kehlani appeared on the 2025 full-length A Jaguar's Dream.

Based in Belfast, Adetunji tested multiple styles throughout his early teens, balancing trumpet lessons at school with a growing urge to rap that prompted him to upload recordings for online friends. His initial studio output reflected that range, opening with the 2020 Afrobeats single "Close 2 U" before quickly venturing into alternative rock on "Wokeup!," U.K. drill via "Around," and melodic trap with "Angel" and "Riot." By 2023 he had narrowed his focus to Midwest hyperpop textures associated with glaive and brakence; the infectious singles "You & I" and "Go" showcased the genre's heavily processed vocals, Jersey club bounce, and sharp glitchy production. The same palette shaped follow-ups "Things You Do," "Involved," and "Can't Lose," which formed the core of his 2023 debut mixtape Rock 'N' Rave.

In 2024 Adetunji redirected many of those ideas toward rap structures, unveiling the shift on the sample drill track "Zack & Cody." That approach powered the June 2024 breakout "Kehlani," a stream of melodic rap flows, thumping Jersey drum patterns, and hedonistic yearning that amassed over 40 million streams within weeks. The song earned a direct endorsement from Kehlani, who joined a remix and invited Adetunji to perform at the launch of her 2024 album Crash. His second mixtape, A Jaguar's Dream, arrived in 2025 and included both versions of "Kehlani" alongside guest spots from Bryson Tiller, kwn, and Lil Baby.
