Biography
Recognized as a Canadian-American actor, singer, and recording artist, Joshua Henry gained prominence through Tony-nominated Broadway performances in The Scottsboro Boys, Violet, and Carousel, while also embodying Aaron Burr during the inaugural touring production of Hamilton. Additional credits include various television and film appearances. His entry into music occurred in 2021 via the debut EP Guarantee, which merged R&B, pop, and vintage soul.
Originating from Winnipeg and raised in Miami, Henry first connected with the performing arts through a high school staging of The Music Man. He pursued theater studies at the University of Miami before making his professional acting debut in 2006 as co-star Judas in Godspell. Broadway entry came in 2011 with The Scottsboro Boys, yielding his first Tony nomination. Subsequent praise arrived for Violet in 2014, Hamilton in 2017, and Carousel in 2018, the final show earning a Grammy Award nomination for Best Musical Theater Album.
