J.P., the Milwaukee rapper, has built his reputation on vibrant tracks built around Auto-Tuned vocal hooks and playful energy. His breakthrough arrived after several regional successes and mixtape projects, including 2023’s Highs and Lows, followed by the viral 2024 single “Bad Bitty.” Two albums, Coming Out Party and School Dance, both surfaced that same year.

Born Josiah Gillie and sometimes credited as Jody P, J.P. first drew notice in 2022 with the single “Juicey Ahhh,” driven by a low-end beat, woozy bars, and chanting hooks. The track spread through Milwaukee, leading to additional releases such as the cloudy party anthem “My Lips Are Parched” and a trapped-out reworking of Tracy Chapman’s “Fast Car” in 2023. Global attention arrived with 2024’s “Bad Bitty,” which circulated widely on social platforms and accumulated millions of streams. Later singles included “She Took” and “Freak Girl,” along with the collaboration “Mr Smackdown” featuring Munch Lauren.
