Biography
At the age of just twenty, rapper Justin Warfield saw the 1993 release of his first full-length project, My Field Trip to Planet 9, reach inquisitive listeners. Prince Paul handled production duties on the record, which blended psychedelic loops with erratic rhythms in an unconventional manner; although commercial reception remained modest, the effort marked the young artist as one worth monitoring. His complete rejection of that debut came with the arrival of The Justin Warfield Supernaut two years later. The follow-up embraced an appealing classic rock aesthetic yet failed to improve upon previous sales figures while puzzling his audience. More unexpected still was the abrupt withdrawal from the spotlight following promotion for this second album, during which he contributed occasional guest spots to acts such as Placebo and Cornershop without issuing any new material under his own name.
