Karin Krog stands out as a versatile and exploratory vocalist capable of moving seamlessly between classic standards and more open-ended improvisations. Her first recordings appeared in 1964, followed by performances across numerous European jazz festivals throughout the mid-1960s; by 1967 she had traveled to the United States, where she both performed and recorded alongside the Don Ellis Orchestra as well as Clare Fischer’s trio. Although based in Europe, the singer maintains an international itinerary and has maintained a consistent recording schedule over the decades, collaborating with sidemen including Kenny Drew, Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen, Jan Garbarek, Ted Curson, Dexter Gordon, Palle Mikkelborg, Steve Kuhn, Steve Swallow, Archie Shepp, Bengt Hallberg, and John Surman. Her discography spans releases on Philips, Sonet, Polydor, and additional European imprints.
