Biography
Detroit native Kathy Kosins blends Motown sensibilities and pop sensibilities with her jazz vocal style. Her first professional work came as a backing singer for Was (Not Was), Michael Henderson, J.C. Heard's Orchestra, and the Nelson Riddle Orchestra. Throughout the 1980s she composed R&B material in tandem with producers Rick Chudikoff, Jeff Pesetto, Peter Benetta, and Nick Martinelli. Even so, her debut album, All in a Dream's Work, centers on swing-era jazz singing.
