Kendra Smith

Kendra Smith helped establish the Dream Syndicate as one of its founding members and contributed significantly to the creative direction of Opal, the California psychedelic group, throughout the middle of the 1980s. During Opal's concluding tour, she departed the lineup, making way for Hope Sandoval to step in; following the tour's completion, the band adopted the name Mazzy Star. After that period, Smith assembled the Guild of Temporal Adventureers, issuing a lone self-titled EP in 1992, before withdrawing from public view until unveiling her first solo album, Five Ways of Disappearing, in 1995—a record that explores various sonic approaches and musical genres.
