Kingfish

Originating in the San Francisco music scene, Kingfish first brought together Grateful Dead guitarist Bob Weir with singer/harpist Matthew Kelly, bassist Dave Torbert, guitarist Robbie Hoddinott, and drummer Chris Herolo. The ensemble issued its self-titled debut LP in 1976 and returned the following year with Live N Kickin. Weir, Hoddinott, and Herolo had all departed before Trident appeared in 1978; Kelly gradually assumed sole leadership thereafter, guiding the band through several live albums until the 1999 studio release Sundown on the Forest, its first such effort in twenty years.
