Biography
Originally based in San Jose, California, Korea Girl featured Tobin Mori on vocals and guitar, Elizabeth Yi also handling vocals and guitar, Summer on bass, and Scott Landucci at the drums. Critics likened the quartet’s upbeat, guitar-centered indie pop—fronted by female voices—to Seam, Velocity Girl, Pavement, and Lois after the 1998 appearance of the band’s debut EP, Reunion. The group nevertheless dissolved inside the recording studio prior to Asian Man Records issuing their intended 1999 self-titled album. Tobin Mori subsequently launched the band Ee.
