Biography
Krysia Osostowicz, a violinist of Polish-English heritage, has earned recognition for her work both as a solo performer and within chamber ensembles. Her formative training took place at the Yehudi Menuhin School and Cambridge University before she pursued further instruction in Salzburg under Sándor Végh. Across the European continent, she has appeared in recitals and as a soloist with orchestras in concerto settings. Among her ensemble experiences, she belonged to the piano quartet Domus, notable for drawing public interest through its use of a sizable geodesic dome that served as a mobile venue for performances. The year 1995 saw her establish the Dante Quartet, where she serves as first violinist. Her artistic partnerships have included Radu Lupu, Steven Isserlis, Ernst Kovacic, Michael Collins, Levon Chilingirian, and Christoph Richter. More than twenty recordings featuring solo and chamber repertoire stand to her credit. A Deutsche Schallplattenpreis went to her Fauré recording made alongside pianist Susan Tomes.
