At nine she began lessons with Davina van Wely, later becoming a pupil of Hu Kun at both the Yehudi Menuhin School and the Royal Academy of Music, where Maurice Hasson also guided her development. After graduating from the Royal Academy she collected several academic awards.

Her professional debut took place in 1999, after which she has sustained a busy career as soloist and recitalist, appearing in concertos with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the BBC Symphony Orchestra, the London Symphony Orchestra, the Academy of St. Martin-in-the-Fields, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, L’Orchestre National de France, L’Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, the Amsterdam Sinfonietta, the Residentie Orkest den Haag, the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra, and numerous other ensembles. In 2011 she was named an Associate of the Royal Academy of Music; she now resides in The Netherlands.

Her repertoire extends across more than sixty violin concertos, from Mozart to Shostakovich, and she has made recordings for Naxos and Challenge Classics.
