Laura Fygi

Laura Fygi, a singer from the Netherlands, first drew notice while performing in the disco ensemble Centerfold. Venturing out on her own in 1992, she shifted toward a jazz-focused direction on her debut solo album, Introducing Laura Fygi. Later releases such as 1993’s Bewitched and the following year’s The Lady Wants to Know brought collaborations with musicians including Johnny Griffin, Toots Thielemans, and Clark Terry. In 1997 she partnered with Michel Legrand, one of her idols and a renowned composer, for the project Watch What Happens.
