At the age of 19, while attending a Music Academy in Morelia, Mexican singer and songwriter Leticia Servin began performing covers of popular Latin songs. Throughout the early '90s, Servin joined multiple bands that spanned traditional folklore to alternative rock, among them the acoustic duet Salida de Emergencia. In 1998 the artist chose to embark on a solo career, issuing a self-titled independent record and assembling his own band the following year. In February of 2000, Leticia Servin joined bassist Aner Miranda, singer/guitarist Yuri Nilo, and percussionist Gerardo Charretón to record the album Mundo Matraca.
