Lewis Floyd Henry, whose psychedelic blues-rock one-man-band approach drew comparisons to Jimi Hendrix in both timbre and look, ultimately moved beyond the tube stations and urban thoroughfares that hosted his busking for seven years. Born in Lewisham, South London in 1980, Henry initially worked as a graffiti artist and thereby became the focus of the documentary Story of Known, prior to enrolling in art courses at the prestigious Central St. Martin's College. Drawn to Pantera and Black Sabbath instead of the surrounding hip-hop milieu, he developed a lo-fi aesthetic that he refined during street performances along London's Portobello Road and Tottenham Court Road. Equipped with guitar, tambourine, harmonica, and children's drum kit, his inventive takes on Wu-Tang Clan's "Protect Ya Neck" quickly generated local buzz and secured a 2010 deal with indie label Adjust. Following appearances at Glastonbury, the Big Chill, and Latitude festivals, he issued his debut album, One Man & His 30W Pram—titled for his practice of hauling gear in a vintage baby pram—in 2011.
