Biography
Lightships originated as the solo project of Teenage Fanclub bassist and vocalist Gerard Love, yielding melodic pop shaped by folk and rock influences. Built around Love’s vocals, songwriting, and guitar playing, the group draws additional contributions from Tom Crossley of International Airport and the Pastels, Dave McGowan of Teenage Fanclub’s touring band, Bob Kildea of Belle & Sebastian, and original Teenage Fanclub drummer Brendan O’Hare. The band issued its debut album, Electric Cables, via Geographic in 2012.
