Biography
Based in the Netherlands, Jolan Koks—recording as Loden while enrolled at the Faculty of Art, Media & Technology—works as a laptop composer whose productions center on glitch beats, segment splicing, and atmospheric ambience that recalls Boards of Canada or Virgin Suicides-era Air. After issuing the 2003 EPs That's Left Is Right and In Zee, he withdrew into the studio for the following two years to develop his next project. He resurfaced in 2005 with The Nachtvorst EP on Colony Productions and unveiled his most watery lush and complex full-length album, Valeen Hope, through Eat This Records, which Mush Records later licensed.
