Lola

Eiza González Reyna, recognized among followers of Mexican youth culture by the name Lola, entered the world in Mexico City during January 1990. As the daughter of model Glenda Reyna, she grew up surrounded by the sparkle and activity of Mexico’s thriving show-business scene. Her breakthrough performance in the lead part of Lola, Erase una Vez brought her sudden fame. Portraying a present-day Cinderella infused with a rock-princess sensibility, she converted that visibility into a recording contract, echoing Hilary Duff’s shift from acting to teen pop. Capitalizing on her ready-made following, the songs quickly gained airplay across Mexican stations, while the actor-turned-vocalist’s first album, also titled Erase una Vez, held a spot inside the Top Ten for several months. Once the series ended, Lola embarked on a nationwide tour, delivering the tracks that had become familiar through the program.
