Singer-songwriter Lonnie stepped forward in 2022 via the single "One Night Stand," marking an off-kilter entry point into his pop-tinged R&B style. Raised in Los Angeles, he first explored singing and dancing during childhood, sharpening those abilities through talent shows and choirs before cutting his earliest studio sessions as a student. Lonnie had already begun building an online audience through videos by the time he issued any official material. That body of work drew interest from Vincent Herbert, the veteran executive whose résumé includes close collaborations with Babyface, Destiny's Child, and Lady Gaga. Under the Muse Group banner established by Herbert, Lonnie launched "One Night Stand" commercially in November 2022. By sampling the Cardigans' 1996 hit "Lovefool," the track quickly surpassed one million streams and entered Billboard's Pop Airplay chart.
