Los Rojos

Formed in Monterrey during 2008, the norteño outfit Los Rojos originated with brothers Alexis, Ángel, and Antonio Ruiz. Early performances at neighborhood clubs and private gatherings drew notice for the trio’s fresh, contemporary appearance, which departed from the genre’s customary attire, and for the striking instrument wielded by bassist Ángel: his custom “bajo-bass,” a singular hybrid merging bajo sexto and bass. After securing a deal with Sarco Records, the group issued its first album, Comienza la Dinastía, in 2014 and followed it two years later with Deja de Hacer la Guerra. Steady momentum built through repeated radio successes, each typically paired with imaginative videos, alongside ongoing road work and stage shows. The 2019 EP Ni Juez ni Parte marked their debut on the Fonovisa/Universal roster.
