Biography
Lumerians, an Oakland-based garage-psych collective drawn from the Bay Area, fuse disorienting visuals with a murky, low-tempo sonic palette expressly designed to expand consciousness. The group—whose lineup has featured Tyler Green, Luis Vasquez, Christopher Musgrave, Marc Melzer, Jason Miller, and Tony Peluso—builds a rhythm-centric foundation augmented by subterranean bass lines, analog synthesizers, and hazy guitar textures, yielding exploratory compositions that nonetheless retain sufficient propulsion to animate dance floors. Their recorded debut arrived in 2008 as a self-released, self-titled EP. After aligning with Knitting Factory Records, the band issued its inaugural long-player, Transmalinnia, in 2011. Two further projects surfaced in 2012: the Horizon Structures EP and the vinyl-only Transmissions from Telos, Vol. 4. Partisan Records released the subsequent full-length The High Frontier in 2013, while Cardinal Fuzz brought out Transmissions from Telos, Vol. 3 the following year.
