Hailing from Santiago, Chile, the psych-rock outfit Föllakzoid delves into expansive, trance-inducing grooves shaped by Andean heritage alongside Krautrock influences and electronic sounds. Their self-titled 2009 debut presented an intense, weighty variety of space rock, yet subsequent works like III from 2015 shifted toward a more refined, techno-tinged aesthetic, paving the way for I in 2019 and V in 2023.

The project revolves around Domingæ, who assembled Föllakzoid in Chile during 2007. Their inaugural rehearsal stretched into a free-form jam exceeding two hours, establishing an improvisational bond that would define their stage presence. In 2009 the group launched the BYM studio and imprint, issuing their opening album on cassette. Over the following two years they shaped a two-track, self-titled EP released by Sacred Bones, then returned to the same label for II in 2013. Extensive touring ensued, encompassing appearances at ATP and Lollapalooza, whose experiences directly seeded material for the third album.

III was captured and finalized at BYM in 2015 with German electronic artist Atom™ (Uwe Schmidt), who contributed a Korg synthesizer previously employed by Kraftwerk on 1980s tours. While crossing Europe in 2016 the band linked with J. Spaceman (Jason Pierce of Spacemen 3 and Spiritualized); Sacred Bones later issued London Sessions, a 2017 12" featuring reworkings of the III cuts “Electric” and “Earth.” In 2019 Atom™ assembled I from band-recorded stems into extended minimal techno pieces, and the project delivered V in 2023, further emphasizing electronic and techno textures.
