Biography
Emerging from Manchester, England, the Underground Youth craft atmospheric and frequently unpolished post-punk reminiscent of the 1980s, blended with shadowy psychedelic elements. The group originated in 2008 when Craig Dyer launched it as his personal endeavor, handling vocals, guitar, and composition. Upon gaining online traction with his tracks, Dyer expanded the lineup by enlisting his spouse Ola Dyer on drums, along with guitarist Leonard Kaage and bassist Max James. Beginning with the 2009 release Morally Barren, the band has put out several independently issued albums that garnered positive responses, such as Sadovaya in 2010, Delirium in 2012, and Haunted in 2015. During this period, the collective moved their base to Berlin, Germany. Their output continued in 2017 with the release of their eighth studio album, What Kind of Dystopian Hellhole Is This?
