Biography
Lyzanxia originated in Anjou, France, during 1996 when brothers David Potvin, handling vocals and lead guitar, and Franck Potvin, on vocals and rhythm guitar, assembled the group. A full-length demo titled Lullaby reached completion the next year and circulated among record labels, yet none expressed interest. The band therefore refined its distinctive neo-thrash metal style, incorporating death and nu-metal elements, until Wagram Music finally issued the second album, Eden, in 2001. That release showcased the rhythm section of Eguil Voisin on bass and Gweltaz Kerjan on drums, with production handled by Fredrik Nordström at Gothenburg’s Studio Fredman; the same producer oversaw the 2003 follow-up, Mindcrimes. Strong critical notices and an expanding worldwide audience enabled Lyzanxia’s debut tour of the United States and Canada in autumn 2004. A subsequent agreement with Listenable Records brought David and Franck Potvin, now joined by Vincent Perdicaro on bass and Clement Decrock on drums, back into the studio for the fourth album, UNSU.
