Mako

The electronic duo Mako, rooted in Los Angeles, crafts passionate, melodic dance music marked by high energy. Alex Seaver, a composer trained at Juilliard, and DJ Logan Light established the project in 2011. Prior to their partnership, Light had performed as an opener for Tiësto and Avicii, whereas Seaver had launched a career composing scores for film and television projects. An introduction arranged by Light’s father during Seaver’s collaboration with him led the pair to discover shared musical interests and start producing original songs. From 2012 onward, Mako have issued a consistent sequence of singles and remixes such as “Beam” featuring Angel Taylor, “Music Is Better,” “Way Back Home,” and “Our Story.” Their first full-length album, Hourglass, appeared in 2016 and included the singles “Into the Sunset” and “Wish You Back” with vocalist Kwesi.
