Biography
Proficient across heavy metal, jazz fusion, and funk as a veteran rock bassist, Marco Mendoza anchors the rhythm section for Aussie/American hard rockers Dead Daisies and Thin Lizzy’s reunited configuration, having previously belonged to the Thin Lizzy spin-off Black Star Riders. Born in San Diego, California, Mendoza logged stints alongside Black Sabbath’s Bill Ward, Alias, and Blue Murder before joining forces in 1994 with John Sykes, Scott Gorham, Darren Wharton, and Brian Downey to relaunch the enduring classic-rock outfit Thin Lizzy. His first solo album, Live for Tomorrow, appeared on Frontiers Records in 2007, followed by the additional solo releases Casa Mendoza in 2010 and Viva La Rock in 2018. Beyond those projects and his work with Dead Daisies and Thin Lizzy, Mendoza has performed and recorded with further prominent artists such as Ted Nugent, Soul SirkUS, and Whitesnake.
