Merrilee Rush achieved immediate recognition and lasting prominence through her classic recording of "Angel of the Morning," standing out in a field known for fleeting careers. The track reached number one across the United States plus six additional nations, earning her a Grammy Awards nod for Female Vocalist of the Year.
She makes her home near Seattle and remains active in the music scene via her role in Seattle Women in Rhythm & Blues, in addition to delivering solo performances backed by a band. In 1989, the Northwest Area Musicians' Association Hall of Fame welcomed her as a member.
