Milano, better known as M Dott Money, has taken on starring parts in short films while also pursuing a path as a rap recording artist. Las Vegas, NV, marks his birthplace, though he relocated to California’s Bay Area at seven years old before settling later in Richmond, CA. Local rhyme-battle victories quickly built his standing throughout the region. During the late ’90s he spent a short period with Master P’s No Limit Records as a member of Sons of Funk, yet the association ended abruptly once the imprint’s mainstream visibility faded. In 2004 he returned with the pop-polished rap album My Life Is Like a Movie. Appearances alongside acts like Ludacris and a tour with Akon drew the notice of ICCE Records, which offered him a contract. Capitalizing on the Bay Area’s hyphy wave, he readied The M Dott Report for a 2007 release that included contributions from E-40, Akon, and Sean Paul of YoungBloodZ.
