Milltown Brothers

Emerging amid the aftermath of the Madchester era, Milltown Brothers—vocalist/guitarist Matt Nelson, guitarist Simon Nelson, bassist James Fraser, keyboardist Barney James, and drummer Nian Brindle—fashioned an energetic sixties pop style animated by the lively pulse of a farfisa organ. Though commercial success eluded them compared with fellow acts Inspiral Carpets and Charlatans UK, the group earned notice via their 1991 debut album Slinky. Dissolution followed the arrival of their sophomore release Valve.
