Biography
Although the Pacific Northwest has since earned a reputation for its vibrant rock & roll scene, the Miracle Workers from Portland, OR, were already captivating audiences with their massive, unrestrained sound rooted more in the Sonics and the Wailers than in Hendrix. Greg Shaw from Bomp! Records later produced the band following a pair of EPs in a similar style, resulting in the brisk yet ferocious Inside Out, widely regarded as their most accomplished album. With many original members gone, the group altered its approach once more to embrace the raw, high-impact energy of the Stooges and MC5. The Miracle Workers eventually called it quits following the 1991 appearance of Roll Out the Red Carpet.
