Biography
The Satelliters formed in 1993, fueled by their passion for 1950s B-movies and determined to deliver a raw burst of inebriated three-chord garage punk aimed at “freaking people out.” Their masked performances and attire reminiscent of fading hipsters accompanied the arrival of their first full-length album, Hi Karate, which Dionysus Records supported financially upon its 1996 release. Over the ensuing eight years the label issued four additional U.S. CDs drawn from the group’s extensive output—previously documented through numerous singles and EPs on Demolition Derby, Pin-up, and Screaming Apple—namely Wylde Knights of Action in 1997, Shake, Shake, Shake in 1998, Sexplosive in 2001, and Hashish in 2005. Further expanding their already abundant body of psychedelic 1960s garage rock, Dionysus next offered the self-titled EP in 2006, then followed it with Where Do We Go? in 2007.
