Morphium

Spanish metal outfit MorphiuM came together in 2005, its lineup featuring bassist Eugen Chupaka, drummer Mori Kodax, guitarists Victor Lestat and Max Kalbraz, keyboard player and vocalist Lur Mei, plus vocalist Alex Bace. Their sound blended an aggressive, punishing death-metal approach with melodic guitars and harmonious female vocals. The band laid down its debut full-length, La Era de la Decadencia, in 2008, though the album remained unreleased until 2011, the year MorphiuM inked deals with Kaiowas Records—a Spanish affiliate of Roadrunner Records—and Girona-based Mass Records. Extensive touring followed across Europe and America, where the group supported metal superstars including Megadeth, Fear Factory, and Overkill. Their sophomore album, Crónicas de una Muerte Anunciada, surfaced in 2013, prompting further road work alongside Anthrax, Testament, Exodus, Suicidal Tendencies, and numerous other acts.
