Biography
Andy Bopp, frontman for the Interscope recording artists Love Nut, pursues Myracle Brah as his solo power pop outlet in which he handles vocals, guitar, and songwriting. Frequent comparisons link the project to earlier power pop touchstones such as Badfinger, the Raspberries, and the Beatles, noting that Bopp’s voice at times bears an eerie resemblance to John Lennon’s. Initially launched merely as a side project, Myracle Brah gradually supplanted Bopp’s other commitments to become his central focus. The band’s roster beyond Bopp includes Paul Krysiak on bass, piano, and vocals, Marty Canelli on organ, and two drummers, Joe Parsons and Greg Schroeder. The Not Lame label issued the group’s first three albums in successive years: Life on Planet Earthshop in 1998, Plate Spinner in 1999, and the self-titled set in 2000. In 2002 the fourteen-track compilation Super Automatic gathered highlights from those prior releases. Additional studio work followed, yielding Treblemaker in 2003 and Can You Hear the Myracle Brah? in 2007.
