Biography
Nancy Ames entered the world in Washington, D.C., and logged two appearances on the Top 100 throughout 1966. One of them, her answer track “He Wore the Green Beret” to Staff Sgt. Barry Sadler’s “Ballad of the Green Berets,” climbed as high as number 89. “Cry Softly” followed later that year and likewise registered on the charts.
