Nils Hoffmann, a producer originating from Germany, has refined his warm and melodic brand of progressive house from the early 2010s onward. Material issued via Poesie Musik and Anjunadeep reflects an evolution toward greater intricacy and vocal emphasis in his work. The 2019 single "Breathing," recorded with Ben Böhmer and Malou, achieved notable streaming success, while the albums Once in a Blue Moon (2020) and A Radiant Sign (2022) followed as full-length statements.
Berlin-based Nils Hoffmann trained classically on piano and lists Trentemøller, Paul Kalkbrenner, Yann Tiersen, and Bon Iver among his influences. His single "Balloons" appeared in 2011, after which the debut vinyl EP Verwunschen arrived on Lochmann Records in 2012. A reworked edition of "Balloons" surfaced the next year, and further releases continued, among them vocal-driven tracks such as "You" and "Time." The 2019 single "Breathing" with Ben Böhmer and Malou landed on Anjunadeep, and Poesie Musik released Once in a Blue Moon in 2020 along with its accompanying remixes. Hoffmann returned to Anjunadeep for the 2022 album A Radiant Sign, his second full-length, which featured contributions from Niklas Paschburg, TENDER, and Julia Church.
