Nowhere

The project Nowhere, presented under the stylized spelling nowHere, merges the abilities of spoken word performer Trey Hales with those of musician Anays Torres, who is associated with My Iron Lung. Steering clear of both rap and pure slam poetry forms, the duo crafts emotionally resonant pieces by layering Hales' narrative deliveries atop Torres' intricate soundscapes. Originating from Portland, Oregon, Hales began his artistic journey under the moniker Trey the Ruler during 2012, delivering spoken word performances across the Pacific Northwest region. His initial release under the Nowhere name came in the form of the EP Hell Is Under My Hair toward the end of 2013. Early 2015 saw the appearance of preview material for the forthcoming album via the EP It's All Down Hell from Here. The band's first complete album, Hell Knows I'm Miserable Now on Equal Vision, followed later in the year and included the tracks "You're Welcome" and "Eight Ball God" as singles.
