NX Zero

Emerging from Brazil's alternative rock scene, NX Zero attained mainstream prominence after securing a contract with Universal and achieving a number one single via "Razões e Emoções" in 2007. The ensemble originated in São Paulo during 2001, consisting of vocalist Diego José Ferrero (aka Di), guitarists Leandro Franco da Rocha (Gee) and Filipe Duarte Pereira Ricardo (Fi), bassist Conrado Grandino (Caco), and drummer Daniel Weksler (Dani). Over subsequent years the members performed regularly across São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro with other Brazilian rock outfits such as Forfun, Fresno, and Hateen. Their 2004 album Diálogo?, issued on Urubuz Records, elevated NX Zero's profile as an emerging act and prompted Universal Music to extend a recording agreement soon afterward. The self-titled NX Zero, released in 2006 as their major-label debut, yielded a string of hit singles—"Apenas um Olhar," "Além de Mim," "Razões e Emoções"—that each surpassed the chart performance of the one before it. "Além de Mim" marked the first to enter the Brazilian Hot 100, where it reached number 16, while "Razões e Emoções" advanced to the summit the following summer.
