Biography
US producer Jim Steinman, born 1 November 1948 in Claremont, California, USA, assembled this singular undertaking to capture his rock opera Original Sin. The lineup included Roy Bittan on piano, Jeff Bova on synthesizers, Jim Bralower on drums, Eddie Martinez on guitar, and Steve Buslowe on bass. A roster of guest vocalists—Elaine Caswell, Ellen Foley, Gina Taylor, Deliria Wild, Holly Sherwood, and Laura Theodore—brought to fruition the grandiose concept album Original Sin, which revolved around themes of sex. Classical interludes, spoken introductions, atmospheric ballads, and breathtaking rock ‘n’ roll merged into a work that proved almost too ambitious. Despite its state-of-the-art production under Steinman, the album never earned the recognition granted to his Meat Loaf projects.
