Puerto Rican artist and songwriter Paopao fuses reggaeton with unconventional pop textures as a Latin Grammy-winning performer. Her first full-length project arrived in 2020 under the title Paopao, and she generated additional attention that year through a pair of 2022 EPs, Hembrisimo and Diamantes y Espinas.

Paola Nicole Marrero Rodríguez spent her childhood relocating between Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. Piano instruction began for her during preschool, and she started composing original material while still a teenager. She later attended Miami’s Frost School of Music, where she completed a major in Media Writing and Production before obtaining a Master’s Degree in Music Business. Following graduation she completed internships at publishing firms and recording studios, steadily advancing to roles writing and producing tracks for fellow artists. Recognition arrived through that work, including a Latin Grammy for Chiquis’ single “Ticket de Salida.”

In 2020 she issued her first solo release, the single “Pal Sex,” which drew online interest and directly led to the same-year appearance of her self-titled debut album. Further projects surfaced in 2022 with the all-woman EP Hembrisimo, which included contributions from La Gabi, Villano Antillano, Aria Vega, and Cami Da Baby. Later that year she released Diamantes y Espinas, subsequently expanded as Diamante$ + Espina$.
