Born in 1976 in Seattle, Washington, USA, the folk blues artist resides in Charlottesville, Virginia alongside his spouse Devon Sproule. There he built a devoted audience during the early 00s through multiple intellectually rich singer-songwriter releases. Growing up in Richmond, Virginia, Curreri trained in painting and film at Rhode Island School of Design even as he sustained an enduring interest in guitar and composition. After completing his studies he committed to music full-time, securing an initial opportunity in 2001 when he joined Kelly Joe Phelps on tour. City Salvage issued his debut From Long Gones To Hawkmoth in 2002; the Americana community swiftly embraced it as one of that year’s strongest first efforts. Its successor, Songs For Devon Sproule, aligned more closely with the stripped-down acoustic approach Curreri preferred onstage.

Throughout the mid-00s he delivered two exceptional studio sets, The Spirit Of The Staircase (2004) and The Velvet Rut (2007), both highlighting his exceptional command of acoustic and electric guitar while displaying a poetic insight that surpassed most peers. He additionally put out the live recording Are You Going To Paul Curreri.
