Phoenix Orion

Hailing originally from Brooklyn, Phoenix Orion first drew notice performing as a guest MC at New York City venues, above all the storied Giant Step. A subsequent demo of his found listeners on both coasts, cultivating an underground audience drawn to his bleak forecasts of apocalypse alongside the cosmic rhythms that framed them. Those same grim outlooks received fuller expression on his debut album Zimulated Experiencez, issued in 1999 and featuring guest work from Hive, Daddy Kev, Hermes, and DJ Rhettmatic of Beat Junkies renown. He resurfaced at the end of 2001 with Secret Wars, cut for the Meanstreet imprint.
