A legend within Quebec’s Francophone underground, Plume Latraverse—born Michel Latraverse on May 11, 1946, in Montreal—worked as an artist, writer, singer, and multi-faceted performer whose output encompassed roughly twenty albums, seventeen singles, and several books. After beginning in the 1960s as a rock musician, he moved toward a counter-culture troubadour style that gathered enough momentum for him to issue nearly one album annually. Among the honors bestowed on his work were the Prix International De La Jeune Chanson, awarded in France in 1980, and the Medaille Jacques-Blanchet, received in 1994. Through 2008 he remained active both on stage and in the studio.
