Poison Ruïn

From Philadelphia, Poison Ruin fuse black metal, darkwave, and anarchist post-punk into a doomy, dungeon-crawler sound that conjures the muted tones and existential unease of the dark ages. Multi-instrumentalist Mac Kennedy launched the project, shaping its debut releases, the 2020 EP Poison Ruïn and the 2021 follow-up Poison Ruïn II, as painstaking solo efforts. After signing with Relapse Records, the band assembled those recordings into a self-titled full-length. Expanded to a quartet, Poison Ruin unveiled their second album in 2023, the emblematic dungeon-synth statement Harvest, which redirected escapist fantasy imagery toward present-day terrors.
