Prag, the Berlin pop outfit, took its name from a choice to work with the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra. The lineup centers on vocalist and guitarist Erik Lautenschläger, previously of Erik & Me, alongside guitarist Tom Krimi. The pair first united in 2011 and devoted the following twelve months to trading song ideas while shaping a sound rooted in melancholic folk-infused pop. Roughly a year after forming, they added actress and multi-instrumentalist Nora Tschirner, rounding out the group. In 2013 the band issued its debut album, Premiere, through the self-founded Tynská Records. For each single they carefully wrote and assembled cinematic music videos, a practice they maintained on later releases. Early in 2015 they delivered their second album, No Farewell, which incorporated orchestral contributions from the Polish ensemble Sinfonietta Cracovia. Later that year Prag revealed that Tschirner would exit to explore other artistic paths. By summer 2017 the remaining two-piece issued their third album, Es War Nicht So Gemeint.
