Born in Kansas City yet raised in Atlanta, the raspy-voiced rapper Que first drew notice by teaming with Migos on the early-2013 street single “Young N*ggas.” Later that year he issued “OG Bobby Johnson,” which caught fire after NBA superstar LeBron James posted footage of himself dancing to the track. Building on prior singles such as “OG Bobby Johnson” and his ongoing work with the Migos crew, Que then secured a deal with major-label Atlantic, facilitated by mixtape maven DJ Drama, the label’s newly appointed A&R executive. The whirlwind year closed with that contract in place, and Que’s first Atlantic release arrived in early 2014 when the single “Clip So Long” surfaced featuring special guest Juicy J.
