Biography
Caroline Polachek, the keyboardist and vocalist from Chairlift, developed Ramona Lisa as both a side project and an alter ego. Inhabiting this dark, brooding character, she performs every vocal and instrumental part on her own. Working exclusively through laptop recording and MIDI-based instrumentation, the resulting music carries a stark, ambient quality shaped by the film soundtracks of '70s horror director Dario Argento. Ramona Lisa issued its debut album, Arcadia, via Terrible Records in 2014.
