RAN

Fronted by Anindyo Baskoro, who performs under the name Nino, along with Rayi Putra on both vocals and raps plus guitarist Astono Andoko, the Indonesian collective RAN mixed an array of styles—jazz, R&B, rock, hip-hop, and funk among them—while singing in both English and their native language. Their debut full-length, RAN for Your Life, appeared in 2007 and drew much of its momentum from the single “Pandangan Pertama.” A notable booking followed in 2008 when the group took the stage at that year’s Java Jazz Festival.
