Biography
Emerging from New York City in the early 2010s, Raspberry Bulbs assembled an extreme punk-metal sound that drew members from Bone Awl and Rorschach while merging occult-themed punk with gritty, existential lo-fi black metal. Bone Awl drummer Marco Del Rio, also known as He Who Crushes Teeth, launched the project and drove it into the underground via the 2011 release Nature Tries Again. What began as a largely solo endeavor grew into a five-piece unit for the blackened Deformed Worship in 2013 and the bruising Privacy in 2014. The band signed with Relapse Records before issuing its fourth full-length album, Before the Age of Mirrors, in 2020.
