Rich Perry

Known for his stature as a fine young veteran tenor player, Rich Perry hit the road in 1975 with the Glenn Miller ghost band. The following year brought a move to New York, where he joined the Thad Jones/Mel Lewis orchestra. Subsequent work placed him alongside an array of leading figures that included Chet Baker, Machito, Bob Moses, Jack McDuff, Billy Hart, Eddie Gomez, Tom Harrell, the Mel Lewis big band, and Harold Danko. Rich Perry made his first recording as a leader in 1993 for SteepleChase.
